Internships with CDAE
Gain experience.
The CDAE Internship Program supports students in pursuing career-related internship experiences locally, nationally, and internationally. See what it is like to work for a nonprofit, startup, corporation, or government agency. Our is here to help you explore your options, make connections, and navigate the internship process from start to finish.
Apply skillset.
Internships allow students to gain relevant, real-world experience that they can apply to a future career.
Earn credit.
We believe in the importance of experiential learning. Our internship course grants students the opportunity to receive up to 15 credits for internships with local, state, and national organizations. Internships may be for credit or not, paid or unpaid, part time or full time, and can be completed during the academic year, or arranged during the summer or other non-academic periods. For-credit internships may be able to be counted toward CDAE degree requirements with the approval of an academic advisor.
CDAE Internship Credit Guidelines
- To earn internship credits, a student must enroll in CDAE 3991 during the same semester in which the internship work is completed.
- According to CDAE policy, you are entitled to 1 credit for every 40 hours of participation at the internship site.
- Students may enroll in CDAE 3991 for a maximum of 6 credits per semester and a maximum of 15 credits during a student's time at ¶¶Òõ̽̽.
- Internships must be completed with companies or organizations that are able to sign the ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Internship MOU (i.e. legal entities or sole proprietorships with proper insurance coverage).
- Students doing internships for credit during the summer must register for CDAE Summer Internship Course during the summer term. Summer tuition rates apply.
- Students cannot earn retroactive credit for internships completed in previous semesters.
*Note: Internships for CDAE students must be completed in the CDAE department. Credits from outside the department will contribute toward general electives but cannot count toward a student's CDAE degree requirements.
