The CDAE Newsletter is produced by CDAE students under the mentorship of Lecturer Benjamin Dangl in his Strategic Writing class. In this hands-on writing opportunity, students conduct interviews and research, writing articles for the newsletter which showcase the amazing work of the CDAE community.

Every year, the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics celebrates the best and brightest students during the annual Honors Day Celebration. Awards go to our top undergraduate students each year.

By creating and launching their own pop-up businesses, CDAE students are introduced to critical skills such as financial management, marketing, human resource management, and learn the fundamental elements of the business planning process.

CDAE Town Meeting Day

CDAE Student Town Meeting Day is inspired by the Vermont statewide tradition of Town Meeting Day, a collective gathering that dates to 1762 where residents of over 180 towns gather in early March to openly discuss and vote on local ordinance issues.
