There are many reasons you might choose to pursue an internship. Reflecting on your goals can help you feel more confident in your search process. Some reasons for pursuing an internship may include: 

• Trying out a potential career path
• Increase proficiently in a particular skill, such as graphic design, stakeholder facilitation, or pest management on farms. 
• Grow your network and connections 
• Bolster your professional readiness by developing .

You will also want to assess how much time you have available to devote to an internship

• Internships during the school year are usually 6-15 hours/week 
• For shorter term commitments, Micro-internships are typically a total of 10-40 hours.
