Darcy Pientka has been a member of higher education institutions for over 25 years and has grown in the technology field by doing everything from basic networking and supporting the help desk operations to serving in various leadership roles from assistant technology director for multiple institutions to Information Security Officer. With a Mathematics degree from ¶¶Òõ̽̽, she has a basis in problem-solving that has been applicable throughout her career. For 20 years, she played an integral role at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ focused on research, administrative, and educational support at the Larner College of Medicine at ¶¶Òõ̽̽, and is continuing the valuable work of the institution as the Deputy CIO.

Director, Client Services

Andy Gingras has been at the head of service departments throughout his ¶¶Òõ̽̽ career. Starting as director of the "Depot," the de facto source for personal computer products at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ as an authorized reseller and service provider, Andy is now director of Client Services. He has overseen the development and operation of the Tech Team Computer Clinic, which includes the Help Line, Carry-In Center, and Hardware Service in one location. He leads a highly skilled team of IT professionals who provide desktop computing support to ¶¶Òõ̽̽ students, faculty, staff, and departments, as well as collaboration within ETS and with our distributed IT partners in colleges and departments.

Mike Austin has over 25 years of expertise running mission-critical IT infrastructure at ¶¶Òõ̽̽. Mike has a degree in Computer Science from ¶¶Òõ̽̽ and started his career as a student employee in ¶¶Òõ̽̽'s central IT organization. Mike has a passion for leading a great team of professionals who build scalable, reliable, and secure IT systems and services that meet campus needs and enhance ¶¶Òõ̽̽'s research, scholarship, and administration.

Director, Telecommunications and Network Services

Randy Spooner has 37 years of expertise running critical Network infrastructures at ¶¶Òõ̽̽. He has a degree in Computer Science from ¶¶Òõ̽̽ and started his career as a student employee in ¶¶Òõ̽̽'s Academic IT organization. Randy leads a dedicated team that designs, builds, delivers, and maintains ¶¶Òõ̽̽’s connectivity which is essential to ¶¶Òõ̽̽'s research, scholarship, teaching, and community outreach missions. His group’s responsibilities include managing redundant Internet and Internet 2 connectivity, I2 UCANN connectivity for eligible Vermont institutions, ¶¶Òõ̽̽’s critical infrastructures including VoIP, Wireless, Firewalls, VPNs, the County DWDM network, the 10 GB wave systems to New York and New Hampshire, as well as daily operations of the ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Core network and building distribution down to the end user.
