Riding home with a friend is a cost-effective option. Consider sharing the cost of gas. Even if you can’t carpool all the way home, you could arrange to be dropped off at a bus, train, plane, or wherever your parents pick you up. Check out the and find someone to carpool with today. - Book early
Buses, trains, and planes can fill up especially fast during break times. Be sure to secure your seat and the price ahead of time. - Be flexible
Not looking forward to layovers on your way home? See if you can ride with someone to Boston or New York where there might be more direct flights. - Use Rideshare alternatives
Rideshare services are limited in Burlington, something prices can reflect. Students can ride a GMT bus to Essex Junction Amtrak, Burlington Amtrak, Downtown Transit Center, and BTV airport (see recommended routes at the top of this page). Campus CATS buses also run to both Amtrak stations, the downtown transit center, and BTV airport during academic breaks. Burlington Amtrak and Downtown Transit Center are walkable within 30 min and accessible by GMT bus. - Be sustainable
Every flight and Single-Occupancy-Vehicle trip not taken helps keep our carbon emissions low. When people choose efficient transportation alternatives, that helps ensure a future with plentiful climate-friendly travel options.
