The Ecozoic era, coined by Thomas Berry, is a vision for a future founded on mutually enhancing relationships between human societies and the global community of life. Leadership for the Ecozoic will chart a course for enabling this new era.
Charting a sustainable future
is a global partnership – initially based at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ and McGill University – that develops thought leaders for a new Ecozoic era.
In this decade of action, L4E is dedicated to training future leaders to reimagine and transform our economic system to a sustainable, just, and efficient ecological economy dedicated to improving human quality of life while protecting the global ecosystems in which the economy and society are embedded.
The partnership builds on ¶¶Òõ̽̽'s and McGill's strengths in Ecological Economics, and includes over 50 graduate students, 80 collaborators, and 25 academic, government and NGO partners. L4E PhD students develop and apply systems-based approaches to ecological economics, law, ethics, and related transdisciplinary efforts to research and chart pathways to the Ecozoic.
