Funded proposals address environmental issues at the interface of two or more Gund research themes: climate solutions, sustainable agriculture, health and well-being, resilient communities, and equity and justice.
Successful proposals combine cutting-edge research and scholarship, real-world engagement and impact, and the promise to grow and attract greater support and recognition.
In seven years, Gund Catalyst Awards have issued over $1.5 million in startup funds, supporting 24 innovative projects and over 100 ¶¶Òõ̽̽ scholars. These projects have generated over $23M in external funds and inspired real-world action.
The Gund Institute intends to fund up to $100,000 through two or more awards in the 2024 competition. Proposals may be for funding levels between $10,000 and $50,000 to take place between February 1, 2025 and August 31, 2026.
