BIO
VERONICA Y PHAM is an artist, designer, and educator who works primarily in papermaking and fiber arts in her studio practice. Her work focuses on traditional craft specific to Vietnamese and Chinese histories. The materials in her work are environmental investigations of ecology and place. Pham works with traditional and contemporary papermakers in Vietnam with a focus on collaborative projects and research. Pham received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her BFA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Pham has taught papermaking and fiber arts workshops at the Minnesota Center for the Book, Penland School of Craft, and Ox-Bow Paper Book Intensive, Chazen Arts Museum, Fresh Press Paper, Southeast Asian Summer Institute, Zó Project, and craft villages in Vietnam. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally including San Francisco Center for Book, Truc Chi Gallery in Hue Vietnam, Center for Visual Research Gallery at Cedar Crest College, Morgan Conservatory, Lydon House Art Center, Merwin and Wakeley Gallery, Ruth Davis Design Gallery, Common Wealth Gallery.
