Leahy Institute for Rural Partnerships and Office of Engagement
The Leahy Institute for Rural Partnerships will operate alongside the Office of Engagement with the mission to provide engagement opportunities and partnerships with ¶¶Òõ̽̽ for the benefit of our rural places. The Leahy Institute will bring financial and technical assistance, access to ¶¶Òõ̽̽ research, faculty expertise, student projects and internships, and established ¶¶Òõ̽̽ startup and engagement programs. Together, we will collaborate on impactful solutions that drive positive change for Vermont and beyond.
Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies
is a flexible coworking space housing dozens of startups. Since its founding, it has assisted more than 2800 entrepreneurs. Since 2005, the VCET team has worked with entrepreneurs helping to crystallize concepts, assemble teams, craft business models, secure resources and locate early customers. Some firms will develop rapidly in a matter of months for a software launch while others might take years to complete medical trials. Either way, VCET programs, facilities and capital programs serve a select few firms by supporting the design, positioning and acceleration of a new product idea, a better service offering or a truly breakthrough platform technology.
Vermont EPSCoR
The ) helps build the state's capacity for scientific research and trains a diverse, prepared science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce. We do this through multi-year, federally funded projects that integrate statewide higher institutions, stakeholders, private sector, partners and collaborators. Together, research teams, post-doctoral associates and graduate students work to advance science and engage stakeholders, undergraduate interns and high school teams to discover new scientific knowledge, share broadly with diverse communities, and train the next generation of innovators.
Vermont Biomedical Research Network (VBRN)
The mission of is to build a culture to promote biomedical research infrastructure in Vermont. Our focus is on human health and behavior as broadly defined. The goal is to build and sustain a culture of research throughout the state by facilitating the research capacity of faculty members, and the education of undergraduates, at our baccalaureate partner institutions.
Gund Institute for Environment
Research isn’t enough to solve our environmental problems — we need action, too. The Gund Institute for Environment mobilizes scholars and decision makers to understand and tackle critical environmental challenges. Driven by the belief that research should inspire action, we work in partnership with stakeholders from government, business and broader society. Vermont Advanced Computing Center
The Vermont Advanced Computing Center (VACC) is a research facility offering computing services to ¶¶Òõ̽̽ faculty, staff and students.
VACC's mission includes strategic support in three key areas:
- advancing high-impact, multidisciplinary research efforts
- promoting advanced computing education and outreach across disciplines
- investing in next-generation, innovative and sustainable high-performance computing infrastructure models
Instrumentation and Technical Service
The Instrumentation and Technical Services (ITS) department at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ serves as the academic umbrella organization for two groups that provide technology services to the ¶¶Òõ̽̽ community, other academic institutions, healthcare providers, businesses, government, and Vermont emerging technology companies:
Office of Animal Care Management
The is directed by the University Veterinarian, who provides oversight and clinical care for animals utilized in University teaching and research activities. The Veterinarian serves on ¶¶Òõ̽̽'s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and participates in the review and monitoring of all proposed or ongoing animal use.
