Remote Desktop Gateway
Body

This is a virtual Windows computer that is accessed via a web browser and mimics the experience of being on campus when accessing Larner resources remotely. It provides access to the Office suite of software, department shared drives (L: drive), and other resources. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is required. To set up MFA, download "Setup Multi-Factor Authentication Instructions (pdf)" or submit a support ticket. We recommend using the following web browsers: Edge, Firefox, Chrome.

Virtual Private Network

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection allows you to securely access Larner and CNHS resources as if you were on campus. COMTS recommends the use of the Remote Desktop, but there are some instances where a VPN is preferable, such as accessing department shared drives while off-campus. College computers have the Cisco AnyConnect VPN application already installed. In Windows, use the Search Bar to find Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and make sure the URL in the address field is vpn.med.uvm.edu. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is required. To set up MFA, download "Setup Multi-Factor Authentication Instructions (pdf)" or submit a support ticket.

To access the Secure L:Drive for specific research areas on the L: drive, you'll need to use the URL, vpn.med.uvm.edu/secured.

For those using personal computers, please use the .
