Embracing Diversity in Medical Education
Look at Larner is an annual, student-led outreach program welcoming rising college juniors, seniors, postgraduates, and career changers from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds who aspire to a career in medicine. The program connects prospective students with current medical students and professionals from diverse backgrounds, showcasing Larner College of Medicine’s commitment to diversity, equity, and belonging within our medical community.
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) defines Underrepresented in Medicine (URM) as racial and ethnic populations underrepresented in medicine relative to their numbers in the general population. Larner College of Medicine expands this definition to include first-generation college students, sexual minorities, those identifying as transgender or non-binary, and individuals from rural or financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
