Saadatu is a PhD student in the Food Systems program at ¶¶Òõ̽̽. She is interested in inequalities in the food system and here at ¶¶Òõ̽̽, her work explores intersectionality in different dietary patterns and cultural settings. Through this work, she hopes to add to the echoes on the need for an intersectional lens in food studies and policy framing.
Prior to arriving at ¶¶Òõ̽̽, she worked on several development projects focused on improving nutritional outcomes, food security, market systems and sustainable livelihoods for the vulnerable. Outside of ¶¶Òõ̽̽, she enjoys cooking for others, talking and learning about food, and anything labelled Korean.
