As a PhD student in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources and trainee in the IGERT Smart Grid program, Claire is interested in all things related to human behavior and the energy system. In particular, her research focuses on understanding how and why people use energy in their homes, how technology influences this demand, and how this understanding can help create programs to support a resilient grid.
Before ¶¶Òõ̽̽, Claire earned degrees in psychology and economics (BA) and Environmental Change and Management (MSc) where she explored the impacts our energy system has on the environment and the role of human behavior in determining the future of that system. She also has several years of experience working in the utility industry to advance behavior-based approaches to managing energy use, experience that forms the foundation of her current research.
