Gund Graduate Fellow, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Community Development and Applied Economics

Chris is a PhD student in the Sustainable Development Policy, Economics and Governance program. They grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, and studied engineering at Harvey Mudd College. After graduating, Chris tried out solar manufacturing engineering, launched a one-person Kickstarter, and served with AmeriCorps VISTA. Eventually, they discovered ecological economics and threw themselves into it, obtaining a Master’s in ecological economics from the University of Leeds and now studying at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ as part of Leadership for the Ecozoic.

Chris is particularly interested in the definitions and frameworks for sustainability, as well as the social, political, and economic change necessary for a long-term sustainable world. Their Master’s work focused on the requirements necessary to provide well-being for all. In their free time, Chris loves to code, climb, play ping pong, talk, and listen to music.
