Program Overview
Our nationally accredited Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program prepares you for professional practice in a variety of settings. Classroom-based learning integrates community-engagement through service learning and practicum experiences.

Your Cohort: Connection, Community and Support
During your junior and senior years, you will learn through a cohort model with your BSW peers as you progress through your social work courses together. Your cohort will foster collegial relationships with each other and with faculty.
Together, you will grapple with social issues and policies, learn theories and skills to influence change that improves the lives of vulnerable and marginalized people and communities.
Field Education: Internships
In your senior year,l apply your learning through a supervised practicum (internship) of 15-20 hours per week over two semesters (450 total hours) in a social work practice setting. You will also learn from peers about the breadth of generalist practice contexts in a weekly campus seminar discussing internship experiences.

Personalized Advising and Mentoring
You will always have a home base on campus. Upon admission, a professional advisor will be assigned to support you. You will also have a faculty member serving as your academic advisor. You will meet regularly with your advisor to discuss courses, field experiences, and your ongoing development in the profession of social work.
