Program Overview

Students at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ have the opportunity to pursue a minor in Physics. A physics minor indicates that you have developed the ability to solve a wide variety of problems and that you are comfortable in a technical setting.  It tells employers that you have a deeper understanding of the science behind the technical field you wish to work in. If your post-¶¶Òõ̽̽ plans involve professional schools such as medical school, law school or MBA programs, the problem-solving skills that come with a physics minor will get you noticed! These skills are important for a wide variety of careers in the sciences, engineering, economics and the social sciences. Many majors require their students to take at least an elementary course in physics if only so the students can hone their skills in analytical thinking, so opting for a physics minor is more of a good thing.

Earning a physics minor at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ requires an entire year of our introductory sequence of course, as well as a couple more required courses and electives for a total of 15 credits.   In addition, physics minors are required to take three semesters of calculus from the math department.
