よこそ!Welcome! Kazuko Suzuki Carlson has received national distinguished recognition for her excellence in teaching, advocacy, and leadership in Japanese education by being awarded the 2024 American Association of Teachers of Japanese . Since 2002, she has been teaching all levels of Japanese and offering hands-on cultural activities at ̽̽. As a Service-Learning Faculty Fellow, she has developed partnerships with various schools and arranges community-based, experiential learning opportunities where ̽̽ students can obtain transferrable skills and share and apply their knowledge. She arranges tutors and connects Japanese international students with ̽̽ students as language partners. She offers virtual language-exchange programs with several Japanese universities. She serves as an associate board member of the Japan-America Society of Vermont. Her current teaching and research interests are in Collaborative Online International Learning and Planetary Health through Service Learning.
