Program Overview
The Japanese minor requires a minimum of 15 credit hours in Japanese language courses. To ensure advanced proficiency, at least nine of these credit hours must be at the 3000-level or higher, including the mandatory course JAPN 3200. Students have the flexibility to substitute three credit hours of language study beyond JAPN 3200 with three credit hours of Japanese literature courses at the 2000-level or above. This minor is designed to deepen students’ understanding of the Japanese language and culture, preparing them for diverse professional and academic opportunities with their chosen major.
