Chrissy Rohan is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences at ̽̽. She joined the faculty in August 2016. Chrissy’s responsibilities at ̽̽ include teaching equine management and training classes as well as overseeing the Ellen A. Hardacre Equine Center (aka ̽̽ Horse Barn Coop).
Chrissy has been working with horses since she was a young child. She grew up just down the road in Charlotte, VT on her family’s 60 acre farm. Chrissy has her BS and M.Ed. from ̽̽. As an undergrad, she studied Elementary and Special Education. After working as a Special Educator for a couple of years, she returned to ̽̽ to obtain her Master’s in Education working in the Consulting Teacher’s Program. As a graduate student, Chrissy received the “Outstanding Teacher Award”. Chrissy worked as a Special Educator for 12 years prior to raising her family.
Chrissy has taught lessons and worked with horses for over 30 years. Her background is primarily in the hunter/ jumper discipline. She also has some experience working at a Centered Riding facility as well as working with Equine Therapy students. Besides working at ̽̽, Chrissy continues to be involved with the Hunter / Jumper industry at a local, regional, and national level.
