ALE Honors Day

Each spring the Department of Agriculture, Landscape, and Environment recognizes outstanding students at an Honors Day Ceremony.

Agriculture, Landscape, and Environment Awards

Body

Agronomy, Soils, and Sustainable Agriculture Senior Recognition Award. This award is presented by the Department of Agriculture, Landscape, and Environment to an outstanding student with an interest in agronomy, soils, or sustainable agriculture.

American Society for Horticultural Science Collegiate Scholars Award. This award is presented to student(s) who are in the top 15% of their junior or senior class and are active in campus organizations, clubs, and/or provide service to their department.

W.H. Darrow Horticulture Prize. This award is presented to an outstanding junior or senior in recognition of superior performance in horticultural science.

Lewis Ralph Jones Award. This award is given to a student in recognition of academic excellence in the plant sciences. This decision is divided between Agriculture, Landscape, and Environment, Forestry, and Plant Biology.

James E. Ludlow Endowed Scholarship Fund. This scholarship was established in memory of James Ludlow, class of 1987, to provide scholarship awards to deserving students with preference to those studying horticulture.

Seymour Horticulture Prize. This award was established by William W. Seymore in memory of his father, Henry F. Seymour; class of 1835. The award is presented to a student who has conducted original horticultural research.

Agriculture, Landscape, and Environment Teaching Assistant Award. This award is presented to an outstanding student exhibiting excellence in the classroom as an undergraduate teaching assistant.
