The Division of Strategic Communications is the center of gravity for professional communications and marketing at ̽̽. We inform and engage key stakeholders, position ̽̽ competitively among leading public research universities, illuminate ̽̽ people and their successes, and align messaging

Strategic Communications is led by the university’s Chief Communications and Marketing Officer and includes three offices:

University Marketing

Drives the university's visibility through strategic marketing, brand management, and creative services. It oversees enrollment marketing, produces photography and videography, and manages key digital platforms, including the ̽̽ website, virtual campus map, and events calendar, ensuring effective communication and engagement with the ̽̽ community.

Areas of work:  Market research and strategy, enrollment marketing, brand management, creative (design, ux, video and photo), and digital platforms (̽̽.edu, campus map, campus events calendar).

University Communications

Manages the university’s public and internal messaging to ensure consistent and effective communication. This includes overseeing media relations, crafting and distributing internal communications, and managing ̽̽’s presence on social media platforms – shaping the university's narrative and engaging with both the campus community and the broader public.

Strategic Communications

Leads communications efforts for the university's colleges, schools, and administrative units. The area is responsible for producing compelling content, managing ̽̽ Magazine (alumni publication), and overseeing the long-running "Across the Fence" news program.
