Endowed Professorships
Robert F. and Genevieve B. Patrick Endowed Chair
The Robert F. and Genevieve B. Patrick Endowed Chair in Watershed Science and Planning was established in 2000 from the estate of Genevieve Patrick and enables the university to focus expertise in an environmental sciences discipline with great relevance in Vermont and far beyond the state's borders. Dr. Anne Jefferson is the current Patrick Chair in Watershed Science and Planning. Dr. Jefferson's research program focuses on improving the resilience and sustainability of water resources and aquatic ecosystems.
PAST PATRICK CHAIRS
Dr. William (Breck) Bowden (Inaugural 2002–2022)
Gund Professorship of Ecological Economics
The Gund Professorship of Ecological Economics was established in 2001 by Gordon and Lulie Gund and their sons, Grant and Zachary. Dr. Taylor Ricketts is the current Gund Professor of Ecological Economics and director of the The Gund Institute for Environment. The Institute is a hub for transdisciplinary environmental research at the interface of ecological, social, and economic systems and develops practical solutions to local and global environmental challenges.
Steven Rubenstein Professorship for Environment and Natural Resources
The Steven Rubenstein Professorship was established in 2013 by Steve and Beverly Rubenstein to fund work on curricular transformation and transdisciplinary research that engages community partners and students. The professorship provides a rotating appointment of a current Rubenstein School faculty member with a term of up to three years. Dr. Adrian Ivakhiv was the most recent Steven Rubenstein Professor for Environment and Natural Resources (2016–2019).
