Dr. Christa Zehle is the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education at the Larner College of Medicine at ¶¶Òõ̽̽, and the Director of University of Vermont Health Network Education. She is responsible for the delivery of the Larner College of Medicine medical education programs which include admissions, curriculum at both our Vermont and Connecticut campuses, medical student services which support the academic success, personal wellness, career planning and professional development for all enrolled medical students, the Clinical Simulation Lab, the Teaching Academy, Continuing Medical and Interprofessional Education, and facilitating the collaboration of the educational missions of the Larner College of Medicine and the ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Health Network. She is a sought-after mentor and has received several awards for teaching. In addition to her roles at the Larner College of Medicine, she practices as a pediatric hospitalist and successfully founded the Pediatric Hospitalist Program at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Medical Center in 2003. She is a Master Teacher at the Teaching Academy, and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society. She serves as a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Dr. Zehle actively participates in the AAMC Group on Student Affairs, Group on Educational Affairs, and Medical Education Senior Leaders group. She previously served as a member of the AAMC Committee on Student Affairs Student Wellbeing Working Group resulting in a publication in Academic Medicine titled A Guiding Model for Undergraduate Medical Education Well-Being Programs (2024) and currently serves as chair-elect for the AAMC Student Survey Committee.
