Ryan Monahan

BIO

Ryan Monahan is an International Student and Scholar Advisor and started at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ in 2024. Ryan advises on issues of non-immigrant student visa status maintenance, exchange visitor visa status maintenance, and other federal and institutional policies as they relate to ¶¶Òõ̽̽'s international student and scholar population. He also runs the OIE’s Cultural Kitchen monthly events and coordinates the Community Host Program. Ryan obtained his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Roger Williams University and his master’s degree in International Education from the School for International Training. Ryan spent 5 years living in Japan, where he taught English in to elementary and junior high school students. He has also studied abroad in Italy as part of his undergraduate degree, and most recently spent a semester each in Ecuador and Nepal to obtain his master’s degree. In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his dog, cycling & kayaking in the summer and skiing in the winter.
