Application Process

Read on to learn more about the application process for the Institute for Agroecology's programs and courses.

Choose Your Pathway

The application process and requirements vary based on your current student status at ¶¶Òõ̽̽, the program(s) in which you are interested, and whether you intend to take the courses for graduate credit. If you have any questions, email Emily Hoyler at emily.hoyler@uvm.edu

 

Current ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Graduate Students

Full or Micro Certificate Program

If you are a current ¶¶Òõ̽̽ graduate student, you will need to apply for the Full/Micro Certificate Program in Agroecology through the Graduate College. However, some requirements are waived; email Emily Hoyler, IfA Operations Manager, at emily.hoyler@uvm.edu for more information. 

Standalone Courses

If you are a current ¶¶Òõ̽̽ graduate student and wish to take IfA courses individually, and not as part of a certificate program, no application is required. You can register through the Office of the Registrar.

Note that some courses have prerequesites; instructor permission is required to bypass any prerequisite courses.

Prospective Graduate Student

Full or Micro Certificate Program

If you are a prospective graduate student and are interested in the Full or Micro Certificate Program in Agroecology, you will need to apply through the Graduate College. If you have any questions or need assistance, please email Emily Hoyler, IfA Operations Manager, at emily.hoyler@uvm.edu.

Standalone Courses
Body

If you are interested in taking standalone IfA courses for graduate credit, email Emily Hoyler, IfA Operations Manager, at emily.hoyler@uvm.edu.

If you are interested in taking any of our courses as a non-credit participant, continue to the next section.

Professional / Non-Credit Options

Standalone Courses
Body

If you are interested in taking standalone IfA courses without receiving graduate credit, no application is required.  

Note: courses are taught at a graduate level and require 6-8 hours of work per week with assigned readings.

Enrollment Deadline

Fall courses begin the week of August 26, 2024. The final date to enroll in courses for Fall 2024 is September 6, 2024. Full and Micro Certificate program applications must be submitted by August 16, 2024 for Fall 2024 courses to be applied to program requirements.
