Strep Throat

If you have had symptoms for less than 24 hours, testing may produce a false negative.
Symptoms of strep throat often include:
- Fever (>101.5)
- Pain when swallowing
- Sore throat that started very quickly and may look red
- Red and swollen tonsils
- White patches or streaks of pus on the tonsils
- Tiny, red spots on the roof of the mouth
- Swollen, tender glands/lymph nodes in the front of the neck
*Many viral colds start with these same symptoms. Cough and runny nose are uncommon in strep
