BIO

Andrea Rodriguez Trochez (she/her/ella) is a staff counselor at CAPS Redstone office. She is currently a Rostered Psychotherapist in Vermont and working toward licensure as a Clinical Psychologist. She earned her M.A from Saint Michael’s College. Her previous work experience includes working with young adults’ transition to college, life transitions, and being BIPOC and first-generation students. Andrea utilizes a strength-based method and integrates somatic skills to help students to experience a positive quality of life while in college. Andrea likes to help people explore their cultural identities, family dynamics, and relationship concerns. She believes that people are resilient and powerful to overcome adversity; however, sometimes, support from others is needed. Much of her work and interest focused on trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem, and identity development. She is also interested in working with issues related to diversity with a cultural focus and mindfulness awareness.
