Behavioral health support and health coaching are available for students who want to address behavioral health concerns like substance use, sleep, and mental health and for students who want support in building healthy habits to support their wellbeing.
What is health and wellness coaching?
This is a partnership in which students work with a coach to examine and make changes to their overall wellbeing. It does not provide tailored advice; instead, students and their coaches explore what is and isn't going well in their lives and what they need to flourish.
Common topics discussed in health and wellness coaching
- Physical wellbeing: Support making changes to movement, nutrition, and sleep routines.
- Stress management: Identify sources of stress and experiment with coping strategies.
- Time management: Develop a satisfying daily routine and work-life balance.
- Social and spiritual wellbeing: Reconnect to the people, places, things, and activities that bring joy and foster a sense of purpose.
- Digital wellbeing: Reflect on and adjust the role of tech in day-to-day life.

Behavioral health includes the emotions and behaviors affecting overall wellbeing, such as mental health, substance use, and relationships. Our behavioral health team helps students understand their own thought processes, emotional responses, and reactions so they can manage them in healthy ways.

- Mental Health: Support adjusting to college and managing college life.
- Substance Use: Examine personal relationships with substances, change patterns about use, and develop ways to address substance concerns with others.
- Nicotine Cessation: Develop strategies to cut back or stop smoking or vaping.
- On- and Off-Campus Resources: Learn about resources on campus and in the community.
