Each spring, the Physical Plant department performs an annual shutdown of the Main Campus District Energy Plant and all satellite boilers in order to complete mandatory equipment and safety inspections and perform critical maintenance repairs to the entire campus thermal energy distribution system.
The shutdown impacts the heating, cooling and hot water system in many campus buildings. The detailed schedule and impacts will be published in the weeks leading up to ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Commencement. The shutdown process typically begins after the Commencement ceremony has ended and usually lasts up to one week.
