BIO

Eric Braun, Ed.D., is an Associate Director of Student Services and Retention in the College of Education and Social Services (CESS). He serves as the Academic Advisor for first-year students in Elementary Education and Secondary Education. Eric also provides leadership in assessment, recruitment, and retention.

Early in his career, Eric was an English Language Instructor in Japan in Greece. After transitioning into a student affairs career, he served as a Dean of Students at liberal arts colleges in England and America. Eric returned to the classroom as an Elementary Educator in New Hampshire and Vermont. His dual career pathway has prepared Eric for the wide range of duties in his current position.

Eric is active in NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. He serves as Vermont State Liaison. Eric is also the Chair of the Education Majors Advising Community. He has presented at both regional and national conferences. Finally, Eric has contributed articles to Academic Advising Today: Remote Academic Advising: A Review of the Post-Pandemic Literature; Advising Strategies to Combat Challenges in Teacher Preparation Programs; and Best Practices in Academic Advising: A Busy Advisor's Cheat Sheet.

Bio
