BIO

Ying Hu joined the faculty at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ in 2012. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Educational Technology, along with an M.A. in Second Language Studies. Her research explores cognitive flexibility in knowledge acquisition and application – specifically, the skills learners use to navigate complex and interconnected concepts, like those found in foreign language learning. She also investigates ways to leverage technology to support this type of adaptive learning.

At ¶¶Òõ̽̽, Ying has taught Chinese at all levels, emphasizing a learning-in-situ approach where students engage with language in authentic contexts. She also advocates for service learning that integrates language study with community-based practice.
