Marguerite Jouët: Global Business Guru with a Creative Flair
Marguerite’s impact reaches far beyond the classroom. As president of the (WIB) club, she actively cultivates an inclusive and empowering community for campus members. Her dedication to helping others enhance their career preparedness and connect with professionals across the northeast is truly commendable. Additionally, Marguerite Jouët represented the Grossman School Team at the (JMUCC) this semester.
Christian Penkrat: Sustainability Crusader in the Finance Realm
Christian is pursuing a dual concentration in business analytics and finance, with a theme in sustainable business. During his time at ̽̽, he was actively involved in the Grossman School Advisory Committee (GSAC), served as treasurer for Boulder Society, and was a member of Sigma Phi Society. Post-graduation, Christian is excited to embark on his next journey in Boston, where he has secured a position as a Finance Associate at , where he'll leverage his skills and passion for sustainable practices to make a meaningful impact in the finance industry.
Christian's dedication to both his studies and extracurricular activities showcases his commitment to excellence and his drive to create positive change wherever he goes. His advice for first year students is that your network is your biggest asset, talk to anyone and everyone that will have a conversation with you. We can't wait to see all that he accomplishes in his future endeavors.
Danielle Guerrero: Empowering Diversity, Shaping Business
Danielle is a senior with a concentration in finance and a theme in global business. As president of the (DIB) Club, Danielle has revitalized the club, providing a platform for underrepresented students to thrive personally and professionally. Under Danielle's leadership, the DIB Club recently organized a trip to Boston where members networked with professionals in banking and accounting and connected with ̽̽ alumni. Danielle is also an active member of the , and a student employee in the Grossman School Center for Student Success (CSS). In January 2023, she participated in the National Diversity Case Competition, forming meaningful connections and a mentorship with Professor Joanne Pencak.
After graduation, Danielle has exciting plans. She's accepted an intern position with PwC in their While You Work Fellowship program. This prestigious opportunity allows her to kickstart her career in assurance while pursuing a Master of Science in Management and Accounting Analytics at Northeastern University. After interning with , Danielle will relocate to their NYC office for this amazing opportunity. Thanks to the support from PwC and Northeastern University, she is on track to achieve her goal of obtaining a CPA and making a significant impact in the accounting industry. Some of her advice to first-year students: “Think of yourself as a sponge and soak up everything around you. But remember, it’s okay not to have all the answers; no one expects you to. Just keep that eagerness to learn and gain more experiences alive and kicking!"
Rob Trim: Navigating Finance with Entrepreneurial Finesse
Rob's deep involvement in Burlington's entrepreneurial scene led him to choose Entrepreneurship as his theme, along with a concentration in Finance.Rob's interest in Finance stems from his lifelong fascination with capital markets and his desire to follow in the footsteps of his parents, who are both financial advisors. He recognizes the versatility of a Finance degree, making it an ideal choice for his future endeavors.
At ̽̽, Rob has worn many hats. As president of the Catamount Innovation Fund, he and his team have been instrumental in assisting student businesses on campus. He's also an active member of the , channeling his passion for innovation and business creation. As a private advisor for small businesses, Rob brings his expertise to help them thrive. Not to mention, he co-manages and runs his own company, . In addition to his professional pursuits, Rob is also a member of the and the , rounding out his diverse interests and involvement on campus.
Brooke Weatherup: Sustainability Savvy in the Marketing World
Brooke is a versatile student at ̽̽. graduating with a concentration in marketing and a theme in sustainability, along with a minor in Writing. She is actively involved in campus life as a member of GSAC with Christian Penkrat, the , and a Presidential Leadership Fellow. She's also taken on various roles including TREK leader, teaching assistant, and Grossman School ambassador.
After graduation, Brooke plans to return to ̽̽ for the Sustainable Innovation MBA program. Her ultimate goal is to work for a non-profit or social enterprise, aiming to make a positive impact in the world. Her advice to first-year students is simple: attend the first meeting of any club you're interested in to see if it's the right fit. Get involved from the start.
Will Tessmer: Analytics Aficionado Charting New Territories
Will is a standout figure at Grossman School, specializing in business analytics with a minor in computer science: information systems. With two years as Senior Lead Coordinator for Competition, Recruitment, and IT at the Schlesinger-Global Family Enterprise Case Competition and three years on the organizing committee, Will has honed his leadership and organizational skills. As a TA for Information Technology for five semesters, he guided peers through complex concepts. Will's team placed third overall in the (LAZicc) 2022, showcasing his competitive spirit.
Will Tessmer is set to make a significant impact in business analytics and technology. After graduation, he'll join in Boston, ready to apply his skills to real-world challenges. He advises first-year students to dive into the array of opportunities available at the Grossman School of Business — from student organizations to networking events and industry conferences.
Saffron Gaudiosi: Financial Star Lighting Up Global Horizons
Saffron is a senior with a finance concentration, a global business theme, and a statistics minor. During her time at ̽̽, Saffron has been deeply involved in the campus community. From her role in the CSS office, helping freshmen settle in, to her work with the PEAKS program at Grossman School of Business and resume reviews, she's been dedicated to empowering her peers. This year, she became a Grossman School ambassador, organizing panels and tabling events under Advisor Angela Erdmann’s guidance.
Her adventures didn't stop there - Saffron's highlight was studying abroad in Florence, Italy. Immersing herself in the Italian culture, taking exciting classes, and traveling across Europe made it an unforgettable experience. Saffron is gearing up for her next big chapter in Manhattan, joining as a financial analyst in the Global Counterparty Credit division. Though her exact team is still TBD, she'll be tackling risk assessments for debt security deals, paving the way for financial success. Her advice for incoming freshmen? Confidence is key. Whether it's speaking up in class or trying out a new club, trust in your abilities. Taking that first step can lead to incredible opportunities.
Hannah Bohmann: Entrepreneurial Spirit Shines Through Analytics
Hannah’s concentration has been in Business Analytics with a theme in Entrepreneurship and minoring in applied design. She has excelled in various case competitions, proudly representing the Grossman School of Business, including: SG-FECC organization committee, , Business and Management Case Competition (BMCC) in Mexico, and as a Grossman School Senior Ambassador.
Her advice to first-year students is to get involved as soon as possible. Participate in a case competition, talk to your professors️, and meet with your advisor frequently. Spend time with CSS, work in the computer lab, and say hi to people. Put yourself out there as much as you feel comfortable; it will benefit you in the long run. Grossman is an incredibly supportive school, and the more you get to know the community, the more support you will receive. And most importantly, have fun!
Aedan Knowlton: Leading the Charge in Sustainable Marketing
Aedan is a leader among his peers at Grossman School, concentrating in marketing with a theme in sustainable business. Aedan was the president of GSAC and the . He played a key role in planning events like the Grossman Dean’s Cup and organizing tournaments with schools like the University of Maryland and Ohio State. These experiences provided invaluable lessons and connections with great people.
Aedan's post-graduation plans involve delving into the world of marketing and branding, aiming to leverage his creativity in his career. He aspires to move to a new city, particularly in an area where he can pursue his passion for skiing while building a professional career. His biggest piece of advice is to get involved any way you can on campus. By getting involved, you can meet new people, grow personally, and apply classroom learning to real-world situations—a great practice for future professional environments.
