In a rapidly evolving global landscape, organizations worldwide are grappling with the need to embrace sustainable and transparent practices. The next Research Seminar Series at the Grossman School of Business will provide a platform for University of Vermont (̽̽) faculty and graduate students who are exploring these pressing issues and facilitate scholars to exchange innovative ideas and delve into the latest research and developments within the academic community.

On March 29 from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. in Ifshin Hall 358, Dr. Caroline Flammer, A. Barton Hepburn Professor of Economics at both Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and Columbia Business School, will lead a discussion on Biodiversity in Finance.

Exploring Biodiversity in Finance

With expertise spanning strategy, economics, and sustainable investing, Dr. Flammer will offer a unique perspective on the use of private capital to finance biodiversity conservation and restoration.

Dr. Flammer's research addresses the intersection of sustainable finance and impact investing. As the Director of the Sustainable Investing Research Initiative (SIRI) at Columbia University, she leads efforts to foster scholarship, education, and dialogue on system-level investing. Through her extensive research, she explores how private capital can be harnessed to finance biodiversity projects, ultimately addressing critical global challenges such as climate change, inequality, and global health.

Interested ̽̽ faculty and graduate students should RSVP to Patrick Callery, assistant professor, Grossman School of Business.
