As part of the SI-MBA Innovator in Residence speaking series, SI-MBA students gathered last Friday to learn from Grace Kim, founder and CEO of GKC LLC. Grace shared insights on building businesses from her career and led group workshops for the students to better understand and learn from each other. A key theme during the seminar was focused on the “why”, as Grace explored the reasons behind her own decisions and challenged the room to understand the “why” behind their own decisions and actions. She also expressed her hopes of creating a better future through her work and how businesses can be leveraged to create those outcomes.
Grace’s career has taken her everywhere from non-profits to corporate boardrooms, working with founders and executives who are committed to building lasting, high performance organizations that are good to people and the planet. Her company, GKC, specializes in helping executive teams gear their firms towards empathy, imagination, and a clear impact mandate. GKC's client portfolio includes multi-billion dollar companies, legacy foundations, non-profits, and family offices.
Grace currently serves on the global board of eko, a consumer advocacy organization representing 21 million members around the world; as a board director for Inclusive Action for the City; as the chair of the Racial Equity Committee for LeadersUp, a national nonprofit that helps young POC access career pathways; and as part of the executive advisory trio of 100Kin10, a national network of 300+ organizations committed to giving kids a great STEM education. She is the co-founder of White Stork, an evacuation and medical supply operation founded in Ukraine following the 2022 Russian invasion; and former Executive Director of Amplifier, a nonprofit design lab that builds art and media experiments to amplify social justice movements.
