The Grossman School of Business (Grossman School) looks forward to hosting Chuck Davis ’72, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer, Stone Point Capital, as its upcoming  on April 17, 2024 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Ifshin Hall Keller Room.

This annual speaker series, hosted by the Grossman School of Business provides opportunities for University of Vermont (¶¶Òõ̽̽) students to learn about innovative business policies and practitioners through guest lectures every spring.

Hear Financial Expertise and Leadership 

At this year's event Mr. Davis will discuss the "Ah-Ha Moment." All ¶¶Òõ̽̽ students are welcome to attend and hear about his journey from Vermont to becoming a leader in the financial world. His expertise and leadership have contributed to excellence at Stone Point Capital, a leading alternative investment firm with more than $50 billion of assets under management, targeting investments in global financial services and related sectors.

Prior to founding Stone Point Captial, Mr. Davis spent 23 years at Goldman Sachs & Co. where he was Head of Investment Banking Services worldwide and Co-Head of the Americas Group. His extensive experience and strategic vision have propelled him to the forefront of the industry. 

Chuck Davis & the Vermont Connection

Beyond his professional achievements, Chuck Davis remains deeply connected to his roots, continuing to support ¶¶Òõ̽̽ and its local community, championing various initiatives and businesses in the region. A Vermont native, he was born and raised in Burlington and attended ¶¶Òõ̽̽ where he was a two-sport All-Conference athlete and an inductee in the ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Athletic Hall of Fame. Chuck provided funding for the Dudley H. Davis Center, named after his father, and served as a university trustee from 1996 to 2002. 

His contributions extend beyond the boardroom; alongside his family, he actively participates in initiatives that enrich the Shelburne and Burlington communities, supporting cultural institutions like the Shelburne Museum and other community-driven projects.

The Hoffman Family Business Lecture Fund provides opportunities for students at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ to learn about innovative business policies and practices from leading scholars and practitioners through special guest lectures during the academic year.
