On March 7, during the America East Conference Basketball Championship, Newman's Own Foundation unveiled the top three grant recipients of its first-ever Campus Community Service Challenge. Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf in connection with University of Vermont's Campus Kitchen received the top grant of $25,000.

Robert F. Cioffi, a native Vermonter from St. Albans, has been elected chair of the University of Vermont Board of Trustees.

There was Kunin, talking policy with members of her administration about the same issues they worked on when she ran the state for six years.

"'Fred's numbers,' as we so often call them," says Interim Provost Jane Knodell, "have guided countless decisions and initiatives that have shaped the university over the past four decades."

He was at the 2007 North American Maple Syrup Council meeting in Ohio, preparing a talk on how to increase sap flow, when the idea just, well, poured in.
