Dear ̽̽ community,

One week ago today, we were gathered in groups around campus and with our neighbors and scores of visitors to the Queen City as we watched in awe the gradual unfolding of an astronomical event that for most of us will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

For nearly a year the following colleagues volunteered their time and talents to create an outstanding eclipse experience, including educational programming across the academic year, that culminated in an incredible Eclipse Day on April 8. Please join me in recognizing and thanking them for their stellar contributions to this most memorable event that we were fortunate to share as a university community.

Students’ comments on the eclipse ranged from “This is so cool!” to “That was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.” I certainly learned a lot about space, astrophysics, the history of eclipses, and the sociocultural effects on diverse communities.

Thank you all!
