Justin serves as the Director of Dining at ̽̽, where he leads ̽̽ Dining with a strong focus on sustainability, local sourcing, and creating exceptional campus dining experience. Dedicated to supporting Vermont’s food economy, Justin and his team work closely with community partners to foster a vibrant, inclusive food culture that emphasizes wellness, environmental stewardship, and student satisfaction. Known for his friendly and engaging leadership style, Justin motivates his team of 33 managers and 400+ employees to consistently deliver high-quality service, boosting customer satisfaction and operational success across campus dining services.
With over 16 years of experience in higher education dining, Justin manages a robust operation that includes four residential dining halls, 13 retail locations, and catering services, serving up to 80,000 meals weekly. He collaborates with vendor partners to maintain efficient inventory and champion local purchasing initiatives. By partnering with campus departments and student organizations, Justin leads initiatives focused on sustainability, waste reduction, and expanding dining options to enhance accessibility and convenience for the ̽̽ community.
Before ̽̽, Justin served as the Resident District Manager at the University of Central Missouri, overseeing dining operations and leading a team of 300+ employees across a variety of branded and campus dining venues. During his tenure, he implemented a Quarantine/Isolation Meal Program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and consistently achieved “Best in Region” satisfaction scores. Justin’s career also includes impactful roles as General Manager at Truman State University, Walsh University, and Casper College, where he introduced creative dining experiences, increased student engagement, and improved sustainability practices.
A United States Air Force veteran, Justin served from 1997 to 2003, an experience that honed his disciplined approach to leadership and operations. He is ServSafe and AllerTrain certified and participates in several professional organizations, including the Vermont First Advisory Board. Outside of his dining responsibilities, Justin serves as Treasurer of the Burlington Moose Lodge, reflecting his commitment to community engagement. Through his dedication, experience, and student-centered approach, Justin is transforming ̽̽ Dining into a memorable and inclusive part of the university experience.
