What is Virtual Votey?

Body

The College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences has partnered with Enterprise Technology Services to provide a virtualized environment for students to run all applications required in CEMS courses. This environment is called Virtual Votey as it provides access to applications that were previously only available in physical computer labs in Votey Hall.

Virtual Votey is a Virtual Desktop Environment (VDI) that provides access to a full Windows environment from almost any device. Additionally, any application that is required by a CEMS course comes pre-installed so students do not need to install applications on their own computer.

Students who wish to install CEMS applications on their own computer can do so at the .

Should I Use Virtual Votey?

Body

Virtual Votey is intended to provide adequate computing resources for students who either have an underpowered computer for their course work or for those who have a laptop that is incompatible with the required applications. As many of our applications are Windows-only, Virtual Votey provides a great solution for students who wish to use a Mac as their primary computing device.

How Do I Access Virtual Votey

Body

Virtual Votey is available from anywhere with an internet connection. It requires users to have Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) set up on their ¶¶Òõ̽̽ account before it will let them log in. If MFA is not configured, an 'access denied' error will appear when logging in.
