I am a Lecturer in Sociology at ¶¶Òõ̽̽.  I teach several courses focused on crime and law, including Crime, Criminal Justice, Sociology of Law, and Crime and the City. My courses build on my own interests concerning urban law and politics, social and spatial inequalities, and international migration and mobility in the US and in global comparative perspective (most notably, South Africa and France). Previously, I was a Lecturer in Urban Studies at Yale-NUS, Singapore, and in Sociology at UCLA.  I held a Joint Postdoctoral Fellowship with the University of Toronto and Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity (MPI-MMG) and have been a visiting fellow with the Urban School and CEE at Sciences Po, Paris; Scalabrini Institute for Human Migration in Africa (SIHMA); and the Academy for African Urban Diversity (AAUD).
I hold a PhD and MA in Sociology from UCLA; MA in Forced Migration Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand; MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE); and a BA in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
