Burlington Social Band celebrates their 20th anniversary with concerts on November 2, 3, 10, and 11. .
On the program is a work by emeritus Professor T.L. Read, "No Vermonters in Heaven." Taken from the 1915 text by Fred Johnstone, Read wrote the piece for Social Band in 2011. The charming poem, narrated by a visitor to the pearly gates, describes the breathtaking landscapes of the Green Mountain State.
Social Band will also perform songs by Mary Alice Amidon, Peter Amidon, Bruce Chalmer, Tom Cleary, Sara Doncaster, Billy Drislane, Lily Jacobson, Don Jamison, Anna Patton, Will Patton, Mark Pendergrast, and Pete Sutherland.
