Program Overview

The French minor in the School of World Languages and Cultures allows students to be grounded in the Francophone world’s languages, literatures, and cultures. Through rigorous work, students understand the language, civilization, and culture of Francophone countries in Europe, North and Central America, Europe, and Asia.

Because of its multidisciplinary dimension, a minor in French is a natural complement to all the humanities and social sciences disciplines. However, since French is a worldwide language with many applications in the professional world, students in the natural sciences, business, and engineering will also benefit from such a minor.
