BIO

Thomas began his career in language education as a high school ELL teacher in the South Bronx. Since then, he has taught either French or English at the American College of Sofia (Bulgaria), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the University of Washington, Middlebury College, and ¶¶̉ờ½̀½. Thomas also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa, where he worked on agricultural and irrigation projects. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Mentor Award, presented by the ¶¶̉ờ½̀½ Department of Residential Life in 2016, and the President’s Distinguished Lecturer Award 2018-2019. A licensed EMT, Thomas is active with Shelburne Rescue and Camel’s Hump Backcountry Rescue.
