Submitting Courses for Catamount Core Designation

Faculty may apply for Catamount Core designation(s) for a course by submitting a Course Action Form, attaching a syllabus and a Catamount Core Supplement Form for each designation being requested in the "Companion Documents" section of CourseLeaf. Supplement forms provide important information about how the course will meet the approval criteria and how student learning outcomes will be achieved. Requests will be reviewed by the Catamount Core Curriculum Committee.

Effective October 26, 2020, Course Action Forms (CAF) that include a General Education/Catamount Core Curriculum action must also include a supplement that provides additional information for committee review. Please complete the appropriate supplement form (i.e., quantitative reasoning, sustainability, etc.) and attach it in the “Companion Documents” section of the Course Action Form before you submit the CAF into workflow.

What are the deadlines for submitting courses for Catamount Core Designation?
Body

The Catamount Core Curriculum Committee meets monthly during the academic year, typically on the first Tuesday of the month. Course Action Forms that are submitted into CourseLeaf two weeks prior to the meeting date will be reviewed at the next meeting.

Deadlines depend on a variety of factors, including publication timelines for the Schedule of Courses and the University Catalogue.
