¶¶Òõ̽̽

<p>Two Sundays ago, an odd looking parade formed on the eastern edge of the temporary walking bridge spanning the White River in Rochester. Led by Betsy Greene, a ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Extension and Department of Animal Science faculty member and equine specialist, a group of mostly ¶¶Òõ̽̽-connected volunteers carted 50-pound bags of horse feed across the narrow bridge to a waiting John Deere mini-tractor.</p>

<p>¶¶Òõ̽̽ is committed to training physicians to hold on to their humanity in an ever more complex and competitive field. That&rsquo;s part of the aim of Doctoring Skills, to teach the art of empathy within an inherently, even theatrically unequal dynamic -- the white-coat power symbol versus the &ldquo;crispy paper towels&rdquo; patients are often asked to cover themselves with. Collaborating with the Department of Theatre, medical professor Alan Rubin, M.D., is teaching students how to look, listen and learn from patients' cues.</p>
