BIO

Anila is currently pursuing her M.S. in Natural Resources and currently developing novel detection methods of the endangered Spotted Turtle in Vermont. Specifically, she is creating a regional species distribution model and coordinating multi-method field surveys with federal, state, and non-profit agencies.

Anila received her B.S. in Biology from Humboldt State University, where she discovered her interested in research in herpetology. After graduating, she worked multiple conservation-focused jobs, including invasive reptile management with USGS, amphibian disease monitoring with the University of Colorado, and headstarting endangered amphibians at the San Francisco Zoo.

In her free time, you can find Anila rock climbing, playing the piano, or enjoying a glass of red wine.
