¶¶Òõ̽̽Click-IACUC Transition Update
It’s been quite a busy summer. We want to thank all of you for your efforts and patience as we worked together to transition your protocols into ¶¶Òõ̽̽Click! We’ve made great progress over the past 9 months. To date, we have addressed, either by closing or transitioning, 134 of the 198 approved protocols in InfoEd that we started with last December. There are 76 approved protocols in ¶¶Òõ̽̽Click and an additional 9 that have been submitted to our office that are at various points in the review process.
What’s left?
We must have all protocols that wish to remain open in the ¶¶Òõ̽̽Click system by early December as InfoEd will be turned off at that time. There are 64 protocols that remain in the InfoEd system, 21 of which have been entered into ¶¶Òõ̽̽Click leaving 43 untouched to date.
We are still on track to transition all protocols prior to that deadline, however, December is fast approaching and we all have a lot on our plates. As we near the deadline, it is important that if you have already met with either Abbey or Aubrie to review your transferred protocol in ¶¶Òõ̽̽Click (one of the 21 above), that you make any changes that were discussed in your meeting and click the Submit button as soon as possible. These protocols still require IACUC review. You should not wait until the last minute to submit as the review process takes time.
What can you do to help?
- If you have already worked with either Abbey or Aubrie on a protocol transfer or are entering your remaining protocol(s) into the new system independently, please complete this process and submit as soon as possible. This will help us to avoid a bottle neck in the review process as we near the deadline.
- Remaining researchers will be contacted via email by IACUC staff within the next several weeks. Please do not ignore this communication, as any remaining protocols in InfoEd will be closed.
- Transitioning a protocol from InfoEd to ¶¶Òõ̽̽Click is a manual process that takes quite a bit of effort on the researcher’s part as well as the IACUC staff and IACUC committee members. Please take a moment to review the protocols you have open in InfoEd and contact the IACUC office if you have any that can be closed either now or before the end of the year. Those protocols will not be transferred.
Processing Amendments
We are unable to process amendments for protocols that remain in InfoEd. If you have not been contacted by the IACUC office to transfer your protocol to ¶¶Òõ̽̽Click and you have an amendment, you must contact us to begin the process of transitioning your protocol as soon as possible.
General Reminders
CITI Training
The General Lab Animal Training Course and any additional animal-specific courses (e.g., mouse, rat, guinea pig, etc.) through CITI are still a requirement of anyone who is added to the team list on a protocol. We are checking that CITI training as well as the occupational health requirement have been met as we process new and transitioned protocols. If any member of the protocol team has not completed these requirements we cannot issue the protocol approval until the requirements either have been met, or the person(s) has been removed from the protocol team.
¶¶Òõ̽̽Click Tips and FAQs
Source of Animals
If there has been a change or addition to the source of your animals you must submit an amendment for review and approval of this change. Please take a moment to review question 6 on the Animal Justification page of your ¶¶Òõ̽̽Click protocol and make changes if necessary.
Why do I have blank mandatory questions in my approved protocol?
You’ll find a blank question in your approved protocol if the question was added to the eform after your protocol was approved. This question can be filled in by submitting an amendment. If a new question is a mandatory question (one with a red asterisk), you will need to fill in the question in order to submit your next amendment.
My room number is not listed as a location in the dropdown. What do I do?
Call the RPO office. Our IT professionals will add it for you.
I’m listed as Key Personnel on the protocol, why can’t I submit?
A PI must assign you the Proxy role on a protocol to give you authority to edit and submit new submissions on their behalf.
To assign a proxy, the PI of the protocol needs to click on the Assign PI Proxy activity on the left side of the screen. Follow the prompts on the pop-up screens and choose the name of the study team member that is to be assigned as Proxy.
For more detailed instructions on how to assign a Proxy, see the How to Assign a Proxy user guide.
