Jonathan D'Amore

Chief of Staff to the President

BIO

Jonathan D’Amore is Chief of Staff in the Office of the President and has been a member president’s leadership team at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ since 2021. He works directly with the president and other colleagues on strategic initiatives, university communications, operations, external relations, and senior-level staffing. He serves as a primary liaison to the ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Board of Trustees, and he is responsible for oversight of the President’s Office, the Board of Trustees’ Office, and the Presidential Events team.

Prior to joining ¶¶Òõ̽̽, Dr. D’Amore served as chief of staff in the Office of the President at Saint Michael’s College (VT). In that role, he was co-chair of the college’s strategic planning process and was a campus leader for accreditation, government and community relations, and presidential communications. He also served as associate dean at St. Michael’s and taught in the English Department.

Dr. D’Amore is a scholar of contemporary US literature, and has published work on intersections of fiction, memoir, and US media and publishing culture. He earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Notre Dame and his master’s and Ph.D. in English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
