Flexible spending accounts require enrollment annually. The plan year is January through December on a calendar-year cycle. Employees enrolled in Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plans (health care or dependent care) with an unspent balance, must submit claims for expenses incurred during the plan year by March 31st the following year. Federal law requires any unused funds remaining in your account to be forfeited at the end of the plan year. Claims may be submitted online through the EBPA reimbursement portal.
