BIO

I am a Vermont farm-boy, born into a dairy farm family, but most of my farming experience came from working on more than a dozen Vermont farms from ages 12-28. I attended the Vermont Land Grant College (̽̽) and received a B.S. for Animal Science in 1985.

I was the last “County Agriculture Agent” ever hired by University of Vermont (̽̽) Extension in 1988. In 1993, all "County" positions were converted to “Regional Specialist for Sustainable Agriculture" and mine was in Agronomy. In 15 years, I established my trademarks of high attention farmer & farm family advising/coaching, promoting & training in managed intensive grazing, Holistic Resource Management, and bringing farmers together to learn with and from each other.

I continued that work with the non-profit, Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) for eight years.

In 2014, I stepped into the private sector with a couple companies, ramped up my Certified Crop Advisor based soil health consulting, and increased growing food crops organically at the home farm for commercial markets. Growing at home is my primary hobby.
